Sorry you haven’t heard from me in a few weeks. As usual, I’ve been buried in daily details as we try to dot i’s and cross t’s in the final weeks of post production. This past week I’ve been completely re-designing and laying-in the captions for the movie (you know, all those words at the bottom of the screen identifying who’s being interviewed, the clip you’re currently watching and/or the photo you just saw). For a documentary like this one (40 interviewees, hundreds of video clips, photos and old print media headlines and clippings), it should come as no surprise that this is a huge job! As of today, I’m at the 63 1/2 minute mark in the movie – 30 more minutes of runtime to go…
I’ve also spent considerable time working with our attorneys and doing last minute research to make sure our end credits are appropriate and complete. I should be able to finally generate the end credits as they appear onscreen next week (after the captions are done). Meanwhile, the sound editor continues to work on the final dialogue edit and sound mix, and when all these loose pieces are finally integrated, I’ll be back in with the Colorist (sometime in the next few weeks) for one final pass at color correction and generation of our final online edit.
Thank you for your continued interest, support and enthusiasm for The Green Girl documentary project. I’m very confident that when it’s finally completed and released, you won’t be disappointed!
