The Green Girl Documentary Progress Report: 9/29/13

GreenGirlPost-FinalDay Hey Everyone,

Sorry these updates have been so infrequent, but there’s been a lot going on in post-production.  We wrapped up our formal editing period two weeks ago (that’s why I’m smiling in the picture!), but there’s still a lot to do.

Believe it or not, I just completed what will have to be the very final interview three days ago (I’d been trying to get this one for 9 months and it was worth waiting for).  Now I have to get our wonderful editor back for a day or two to cut that in and officially lock the cut.  We are running at a tight 92 minutes right now, and with this last interview, I hope we’ll only add 1 minute of run time.

I am extremely happy with the current cut of the movie – it plays very well and really moves along (people who have seen it agree that it seems like it runs a lot shorter than it really is – always a good sign!).  If you haven’t kept up with all the interviewees we’ve managed to include (40 people, believe it or not), have a quick look at our IMDB page:

In the coming weeks, I’ll be handing the locked cut over to the composer and to our legal team, who will start the arduous process of clearing everything.  Also, we’ll be working out the details to arrange for color correction (the locked cut cannot be released as is – there’s a lot of work yet to be done to get all the old footage and the interviews looking consistent and accurate from a color/brightness standpoint).

Stay tuned for an important announcement very soon regarding the path to completion (which I still anticipate as being at the very beginning of next year).

Thanks for stopping by!
